Stirling Properties Announces New Tenants At Fern Marketplace in Shreveport

Stirling Properties commercial real estate company is pleased to announce new tenants at Fern Marketplace in Shreveport, Louisiana.

  • At Home, the home décor superstore, has purchased 8.16 acres of land to build a 108,931-square-foot retail store. Construction is scheduled to commence by the end of the month with plans to open in the 4th quarter of 2017.
  • La Madeleine Country French Café has purchased a 1.18-acre tract of land to develop a 7,500-square-foot free-standing restaurant location. Plans are to open in the fall of 2017.

Stirling Properties’ Senior Retail Leasing & Development Executive, Rhonda Sharkawy, was involved in both transactions on behalf of the Seller.

Previously announced tenant, The Halal Guys, is still on track to open in late March of this year, and Orangetheory Fitness plans to open in early April.

Fern Marketplace is a 14-acre retail development anchored by Whole Foods Market, consisting of roughly 200,000 square feet. The shopping center is located at the northeast corner of East 70th Street and Fern Avenue, near the intersection of Youree Drive. Tenants include At Home (opening 4Q 2017), Grub Burger, La Madeleine (opening Fall 2017), Lee Nails, Orangetheory Fitness (opening April 2017), The Halal Guys (opening March 2017), and Whole Foods Market. Most of these retailers committed to Fern Marketplace are either first-time locations within Shreveport or Louisiana, or both. At completion, Fern Marketplace is expected to be a premier regional shopping and entertainment destination, as well as a vital economic contributor to the area. Fern Marketplace Whole Foods Market

Despite recent rumors, Whole Foods Market is still on track to open in Fern Marketplace this fall. The shell of the building is complete and interior work is underway. Permanent signage will be installed soon. Whole Foods Market has never wavered on their commitment to the Shreveport/Bossier City market, and representatives are expected to announce an official opening date within the next month.

Whole Foods Market will be the anchor tenant for the retail development. The long awaited grocer will soon join GRUB Burger, which has been in operation since the beginning of the year, and reporting high sales. Lee Nails is expected to open this summer.

We are in lease negotiations with several additional tenants and are excited to release those announcements over the next several months. We are confident in the future and prosperity of this area. The growth rate and location will be sure to allow the tenants at Fern Marketplace to experience substantial retail sales.

Stirling Bossier Shopping Center 100% Leased and Occupied

Stirling Properties commercial real estate company is bringing quality development and retailers to Shreveport/Bossier City. Stirling Bossier Shopping Center Tract K2—the last of six planned phases—is now 100% leased and all tenants are open.

Motherhood Maternity completed occupancy in the final remaining space last month. Stirling Properties commercial real estate company was recently awarded the management contract for Fern Marketplace in Shreveport, Louisiana. Stirling Properties handles leasing opportunities for the center and will now take on daily management.

Fern Marketplace is a 29-acre retail project anchored by Whole Foods Market, consisting of roughly 275,000 square feet. National retailers located within one mile of this center include Super Target, Belk, Bed Bath & Beyond, Old Navy, JCPenney, Kohl’s, Dick’s Sporting Goods, Barnes & Noble, Lowe’s, Cost Plus, World Market, T.J.Maxx, and Sam’s Club, just to name a few. The area growth rate, high income level and location will be sure to allow the tenants at Fern Marketplace to experience substantial retail sales. Currently, the only business open at the shopping center is GRUB Burger, which opened in January of this year marking its second Louisiana location. Whole Foods Market is scheduled to open in the Fall of 2016. This will be the sixth Louisiana location for the organic food chain store.

Fern Marketplace Phase I consists of roughly 75,000 square feet and tenants include Grub Burger (now open), Lee Nails (opening Spring 2016), Whole Foods Market (opening Fall 2016) and much of the remaining square footage is in different stages of negotiation with announcements to occur over the coming months. Phase II consists of roughly 200,000 square feet of which various type uses will add to the mix of the first phase.
