Revolution Burger Co. to Open in Hammond Square this August

HAMMOND, LA – Stirling Properties, developer and property manager of Hammond Square, announces that Revolution Burger Co. is coming to Hammond Square.  Revolution Burger will open in the former Huey’s Diner location this August.

ThHammond Squareis fast, casual restaurant specializes in a proprietary seasoned patty. The Hammond Square location will be the debut of the Revolution Burger Co.

“We are thrilled to bring the gourmet burger concept to the Hammond market,” said Grady Brame, Executive Vice President of Stirling Properties. “Revolution Burger Co. will be an excellent complement to the Hammond Square restaurant line-up.”

Revolution Burger’s menu includes several specialty burgers as well as a “Create Your Own” offering, where customers can customize the bun, patty, and toppings. In addition to burgers, they will specialize in craft beers, hot dogs, shakes and fresh cut French fries which can be enhanced with a series of toppings. The interior decor will be bright, vibrant and active with an Urban-American theme accented by a graffiti art mural that tells the story of the American Pop Culture Revolution.

Stirling Properties Hires Eugene Schmitt as Hammond Square Property Manager

HAMMOND, LA – April 16, 2012 – Stirling Properties is pleased to announce that Eugene Schmitt is now Property Manager at Hammond Square.

Mr. Schmitt brings a diverse commercial real estate background that includes portfolio asset management oversight, portfolio leasing expertise, direct involvement in over $200 million in ground-up development, and direct day-to-day property management.

Mr. Schmitt started his real estate career as the Retail & Industrial Asset Manager for Washington Real Estate Investment Trust, where he oversaw a 4.3 million square-foot portfolio.  In 2005 he joined Atlanta-based Cousins Properties where he served in various development, leasing, and property management capacities.  Most recently with Cousins, Eugene served as the Regional Director-Retail where he managed a national portfolio of retail centers that generated over $30 million in annual operating income.

Mr. Schmitt moved to New Orleans in 2011 and founded Waterline Real Estate Consulting, a real estate services company.  Waterline projects included project/construction management services for a 27,000 square-foot medical office build-out for LSU’s Health Sciences Center and project management services for a historical renovation/adaptive reuse project in downtown New Orleans.

Prior to starting his real estate career, Mr. Schmitt served as a naval officer aboard the guided-missile cruiser USS Ticonderoga and as Assistant Operations Officer at Destroyer Squadron Six.  He holds a B.S. in Naval Architecture from the U.S. Naval Academy and an M.B.A. from Tulane University, with concentrations in Finance and Accounting.

Mr. Schmitt lives in New Orleans with his wife, Theresa, and three-year-old son, Keegan.

Stirling Properties Brings Charming Charlie to Hammond Square

The Houston, Texas Based Retailer Expands to its Third Louisiana Location 

HAMMOND, Louisiana—- (JANUARY 4, 2011) Stirling Properties, developer of Hammond Square, brings a new fashion accessory boutique to their shopping center.  Charming Charlie will occupy a 9,911 square foot space located on Main Street across from Books-A-Million and Shoe Department Encore.  The anticipated opening is set for early this spring.

Charming Charlie is a Houston, Texas based retailer that opened in 2004.  At the end of 2010 they had expanded to encompass 96 locations across the United States, including two in Louisiana – Perkins Rowe in Baton Rouge and the Mall of Acadiana in Lafayette.  Their success is attributed to blending fun, style, color and affordability to create a unique women’s boutique environment.  Awarded the “Hot Retailer of 2010” by The International Council of Shopping Centers (ICSC), Charming Charlie brings new style to Hammond Square.

Stirling Properties’ Hammond Square Wins Best of Construction Award

Hammond Square - Hammond LouisianaHAMMOND, Louisiana – (December 3, 2010) At an awards luncheon held at Boudreaux’s in Baton Rouge yesterday, representatives from Stirling Properties, Richard Price Contracting Co., LLC and Duplantis Design Group accepted an award on behalf of Hammond Square. The Power-lifestyle center received Louisiana’s Best of 2010 award of merit in the civil construction category.

Awards were given by McGraw Hill Construction Company and South Central Construction magazine for construction and design excellence. An independent jury of industry experts awarded projects based on safety, innovation, craftsmanship, and contribution to the community or industry by project type.

Hammond Square, originally developed as a 430,000 SF enclosed Mall, was redeveloped by Stirling Properties in 2006 at the request of Palace Properties, LLC, the property’s owner, and the City of Hammond. Site work was completed in 2009 by Richard Price Contracting Co., LLC who was the general contractor for the project and Duplantis Design Group who was the civil engineer. Together, all teams worked to create over 650,000 SF of retail and restaurant space that challenged them to breathe new life into an ailing property.

Stirling Properties Announces that The Children’s Place is Coming to Hammond Square

The Children's PlaceHAMMOND, Louisiana —- (NOVEMBER 11, 2010) Stirling Properties, the developer of Hammond Square, announces the addition of another retail tenant to its power-lifestyle center. The Children’s Place, the leading specialty retailer of children’s clothing and accessories, with over 975 locations nationally and 14 in Louisiana, plan to open its first Northshore location at Hammond Square.

 

The Children’s Place will occupy 4,290 SF of available space on Main Street directly across from Encore Shoe Department. The official Grand Opening Date has yet to be announced but is expected early spring 2011. The store will offer spacious, bright and airy shopping that clearly identifies sections for Girls and Boys (sizes 4-14), Baby Girls and Boys (sizes 6 mos.-4T) and Newborn (sizes 0-12 mos.). Stirling Properties’ Hammond Square is a Finalist for ICSC’s 2010 U.S. Design & Development Awards

Hammond Square - Hammond LouisianaHAMMOND, Louisiana —- (OCTOBER 26, 2010) Hammond Square, Stirling Properties’ power lifestyle center located in Hammond, Louisiana, was selected as a finalist for The International Council of Shopping Centers’ (ICSC) 2010 United States Design and Development Awards. These awards recognize outstanding achievement in design and development of retail properties and retail store design within the U.S. and are given for the following categories: Renovation or Expansion of an Existing Project, Innovative Design and Development of a New Project, and Retail Store Design.

Hammond Square is a finalist for best renovation or expansion of an existing project for retail space over 500,000 sq. ft. and is among seven other finalists from developments in Washington, New Jersey, Connecticut, California, and Pennsylvania. These eight finalists were judged by a jury of leading industry experts who awarded points for improvement of existing space, methods of keeping the project open during construction, new marketing and re-letting/re-merchandising approaches, refinancing techniques, innovative design and construction approaches, and adaptive reuses of the structure.

All entries receive up to a maximum cumulative score of 100 points but only the top 50% are considered finalists. The top performers in each category will be announced at ICSC’s CenterBuild Conference on December 2, 2010 in Phoenix, Arizona where they will receive the prestigious Gold or Silver awards.  

“To be a finalist for the 2010 U.S. Design and Development Award is a tremendous honor for Hammond Square and Stirling Properties. It is a testament to the commitment made to Hammond by the owners of Hammond Square and to the development team who worked over three years on this project,” said Grady Brame, Executive Vice President and Partner of Stirling Properties. “The recognition helps put Hammond in the national spotlight and we are optimistic about the opportunities this type of news will bring not only for the current tenants, but for those retailers interested in Hammond Square.”
