About Paul
Paul Mastio serves as Chief Financial Officer of Stirling Properties, where he oversees the company’s accounting, tax planning, financial reporting, and corporate operations. His responsibilities span both property and corporate accounting functions, including operations, reporting, and process improvement initiatives. In addition, Paul manages the technology department in collaboration with the Chief Technology Officer, helping evaluate and implement software systems and infrastructure that support the firm’s operations. He also oversees the Human Resources function, including employee benefits strategy, and plays a key role in coordinating company-wide processes and implementing operational policies and procedures.
Prior to earning his accounting degree from Southeastern Louisiana University in 1991, Paul began his career with Schoen and Company, CPAs, in Baton Rouge, Louisiana. He earned his CPA designation in January 1993 and joined Stirling Properties later that year as Corporate Accountant. He was promoted to Controller in 2000 and subsequently to Chief Financial Officer in 2003. In recognition of his leadership and long-standing contributions, Paul was named a partner of the firm in 2012.
Paul is a member of both the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants (AICPA) and the Louisiana Society of Certified Public Accountants (LCPA). In 2022, he was honored by the LCPA as Outstanding CPA in Business and Industry. He previously served as President of the PMAS Accounting System Users Group, which hosted an annual conference focused on advancing the effective use of property management accounting systems. Currently, Paul serves as a member of the Yardi Ambassador Program and has supported former PMAS users in their transition to the Yardi platform. He also holds the Certified Information Technology Professional (CITP) designation.
Active in both community and company initiatives, Paul co-chaired the 2021 Special Olympics “Over the Edge” fundraiser after participating in the event in 2020. He has also served as a board member at his church in Covington, Louisiana. Paul has coached youth basketball, served as a Den Leader with the Boy Scouts of America, and has been a member of Stirling’s Stewardship Committee. He was part of the team that created the annual Stirling Olympics—an employee-focused event designed to support nonprofit organizations. He continues to serve as a resource to the Stewardship Committee and remains involved with the Northshore Community Foundation.
Paul resides in Madisonville, Louisiana, with his wife and one son. His family also includes four adult children, including a daughter and a son currently studying law and finance at Louisiana State University, a son pursuing licensure as a plumber, and a son working in medical research.
Jared Lauderdale
About Jared
As Vice President Controller, Jared Lauderdale leads the company’s property accounting team of seventeen employees and is responsible for all tax matters in Stirling’s internally owned portfolio. He provides annual fair value assessments for internally owned assets and prepares personal financial statements for lender submission. He also supervises the annual filing of over 85 partnership tax returns and performs distribution and tax implications analysis for real estate sales. Additionally, he is responsible for implementing policies and processes to increase efficiencies throughout the accounting department, and successfully executed Investment Management Services (IMS), software that serves as a portal for outside investors to conveniently view financial statements, K-1s and valuations.
Before joining Stirling in 2016, Mr. Lauderdale worked for Postlethwaite and Netterville, the largest public accounting firm in Louisiana, where he focused on individual and business income tax. He also worked at James, Lambert and Riggs, where he focused on income tax as well as auditing, financial reporting and 401k administration.
Mr. Lauderdale received his undergraduate and master’s degree in Accounting from Louisiana State University (LSU), where he graduated with honors. He is a licensed Certified Public Accountant (CPA), passing all four parts of the exam on the first attempt. He is also an Excel University graduate.
Mr. Lauderdale is affiliated with numerous professional groups, including the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants (AICPA) and Louisiana Certified Public Accountants (LCPA). He is a member of ICSC, serving on the ICSC Tax Reform Committee that provides key recommendations to assist the organization in influencing the Tax Cut and Jobs Act of 2018. He previously served as Treasurer of the Greater Hammond Chamber of Commerce from January 2016-December 2018 and was awarded Board Member of the Year in 2018.
Mr. Lauderdale is an LSU football fanatic and a BBQ enthusiast. He resides in Hammond, Louisiana, with his wife and two sons.
Laura Wallace

About Laura
Laura Wallace joined the Stirling team in 2006 and currently serves as Controller – Corporate Accounting. In this role, she oversees all corporate accounting functions, including accounts receivable, accounts payable, cash flow management, and payroll, while also supervising corporate accounting and banking administration. She is additionally responsible for overseeing the company’s accounting and brokerage production in CRE OneSource, leading the corporate budgeting process, and managing 401(k) and workers’ compensation audits.
Before being promoted to Controller, Laura served as the Corporate Accountant with Stirling. She graduated with honors from Southeastern Louisiana University in 2005, where she earned a Bachelor of Science in Accounting.
Outside of work, Laura enjoys attending LSU sporting events and is a season ticket holder for the New Orleans Saints. In her free time, she can often be found at what she considers her second home—Disney World—as a Disney Vacation Club member and annual passholder.
