Mid-City Market
As we celebrate 50 years of Stirling, we’re looking back at one of our most transformative projects: Mid-City Market in New Orleans, which broke ground in 2012.
Located at North Carrollton Avenue and Bienville Street, the 6.5-acre site was once an abandoned car dealership—one of the last blighted properties in the vibrant Carrollton Avenue corridor. Following Hurricane Katrina, the redevelopment was lauded as one of the most important private projects in the city’s recovery.
With a $31 million investment and a bold vision, Stirling transformed the site into a flagship, Winn-Dixie-anchored urban shopping center that helped breathe new life into Mid-City.
Today, Mid-City Market is home to Office Depot, Verizon Wireless, Jefferson Feed, Panera Bread, Felipe’s Taqueria, and more—a true testament to the power of adaptive reuse and community-focused development.

Pan-American Life Center
In 2010, Stirling acquired the iconic Pan-American Life Center — a 28-story, granite-clad Class A office tower located at 601 Poydras Street in the heart of New Orleans’ Central Business District.
Designed by the renowned firm Skidmore, Owings & Merrill and completed in 1980, this 600,000-square-foot landmark is a testament to modernist design and urban prominence.
This acquisition marked a pivotal moment in Stirling’s history, reinforcing our commitment to shaping the city’s skyline and contributing to its economic vitality.
Milestone Moment – 2011
In 2011, we expanded into multifamily with our first acquisitions in Baton Rouge and Lafayette. This marked a new chapter for Stirling, adding Multifamily to our service lines.
