About Patrick
Patrick Malik joined Stirling in May 2001 and serves as Vice President of Risk Management. He leads corporate and property risk management, directing Stirling’s property and casualty insurance programs and, upon request, supporting clients across Stirling’s managed portfolio. His responsibilities include insurance sourcing and placement, risk assessments, alternative risk financing, claims and litigation management, captive insurance programs, loss prevention at the property and operational levels, safety, and emergency planning, preparedness, and response. Mr. Malik also oversees Stirling’s single-parent captive insurer, Stirling Reinsurance, LLC, and the firm’s membership in the group captive, Summit, leveraging both to strengthen Stirling’s insurance programs. Throughout his career, he has managed numerous insured losses across a range of claim types, helping tailor coverage to the evolving needs of a growing portfolio and supporting clients in aligning insurance protection with their goals.
With more than 35 years of property management experience, Mr. Malik has supported risk management strategies across a broad range of commercial real estate, including regional malls and strip centers, Class A and B office buildings, mini-storage, warehouses, and parking facilities. Prior to joining Stirling, he held roles with Property One, Inc. and Sizeler Real Estate Management Company, Inc.
Mr. Malik has been a member of the International Council of Shopping Centers (ICSC) for more than 25 years and holds a bachelor’s degree in management from the University of West Florida (1987). Outside of work, he enjoys fly fishing and boating and values time with his wife, children, and grandchildren.
