Stirling Expands Into Alabama
In 2014, Stirling opened its first Alabama office in downtown Mobile at 182 St. Francis Street. This strategic expansion marked a significant milestone in our growth across the Gulf South, establishing a presence along the eastern I-10 corridor.
Under the leadership of Will Barrois, the Mobile office served as a foundation for expanding our commercial real estate services throughout Alabama and into Florida, including acquisitions, development, brokerage, and property management.
Today, we continue to serve the region from our office in Daphne, building on the foundation established in Mobile.

From Concept to Cornerstone in Slidell
Launched in 2013, Fremaux Town Center began as a bold vision by Stirling to transform 350 acres at I-10 and Fremaux Avenue into a premier shopping destination. As Townsend Underhill, President & Chief Executive Officer of Stirling, shared at the time: “We believe this site has the characteristics to become a premier retail shopping destination…”
More than a decade later, that vision is a reality.
Fremaux Town Center is now a dynamic mixed-use hub—featuring industrial uses and anchored by Dillard’s, Dick’s Sporting Goods, Kohl’s, and Best Buy—with 640,000 SF of retail and dining, 296 luxury apartment homes at The Retreat, and a Springhill Suites by Marriott. Additional residential, retail, office, and industrial developments are also on the horizon.
