Mr. Maurin is one of the founders of Stirling Properties and currently serves as its Chairman. His professional and civic activities include:
- International Council of Shopping Centers (ICSC): Member of its Board of Trustees and Executive, Audit, Government Relations Advisory, PAC, and Executive Compensation Committees. He served as Chairman of ICSC for the 2004-2005 term. He has also recieved ICSC's professional designation of Senior Certified Shopping Center Manager (SCSM).
- Urban Land Institute (ULI): Past Chairman, ULI Louisiana District Council. Member of the Small Scale Development Council.
- Ochsner Health System: Currently serves as its Board Chairman.
- World President's Organization (WPO): Member, and Past Chairman of WPO's Louisiana Chapter.
- Blueprint Louisiana: Chairman, Member of the Executive Committee, and founding Trustee.
- Northshore Community Foundation: Chairman and Member or the Executive Committee.
- Tulane University: Member of the Tulane University Freeman Business School Council.
- Louisiana State University: Chairman and Member of the Executive Committee of the Tiger Athletic Foundation (TAF); Member of the LSU Foundation; Board Member, LSU College of Business Dean's Advisory Council and Chairman of Business School Building Committee; Past Chairman of the LSU Tiger Stadium Expansion Committee.
Mr. Maurin graduated in Aerospace Engineering from LSU in 1970. He received an MBA from Tulane University in 1972 and began his business career as a CPA with the international accounting firm of Ernst and Ernst. He has been active in the shopping center industry for over 35 years.
