The What And The Why
River Chase is the prominent mixed-use development on the Northshore, situated on 253 acres at the heart of St. Tammany Parish. Beginning as a site for Target, River Chase has grown to include over 800,000 square feet of retail, restaurant, and entertainment space, over 500 multi-family luxury apartment units, Holiday Inn Express, and a burgeoning office park. The site has transformed into the highest-exposure, best-located mixed-use site in St. Tammany Parish, through Stirling’s optimistic vision, collaboration with third-party stakeholders, and understanding that great retail space is a catalyst.
Previously, the Highway 21 corridor was primarily residential with little infrastructure, access, or capacities. Stirling Properties collaborated and negotiated with various local governmental authorities for mitigation, permitting, zoning, and the construction of a new highway interchange, and with local utility providers for services in order to sell the site to lenders and end users. River Chase is not a short-term vision; it is an ongoing strategic effort which requires in-depth project management and many years for ultimate completion.
River Chase is in our backyard – just three miles from our corporate headquarters. Starting with great retail development in a market we know, Stirling made a resourceful play on additional adjacent land and worked diligently to find opportunities for additional development. We did not compromise short-term opportunities for a long-term vision.
